It not looking good for the retailers here in the UK. According to a report on the BBC site, retail sales here fell 3.9% in June, after a slight surge in the previous month. No wonder there are sales all the year round but the problem is that not many people are biting the bait.

This is one of the worst figures since 1986.

Interestingly, the sales in the non-store retailing and repair sector sales rose by 6.5%. According to the report, this indicates that "people are mending their existing products rather than buying new replacements".

Dropped by the Bicester Village on the way to London last Saturday. It was a good decision. The various outlets were having massive reductions ont heir products. When they say "SALE" they really mean it.

Bought a Timberland shoe for only £19.99. The original price was £65. That's a massive reduction of nearly 70%. I was tempted to buy more but kept myself in check.

I also bought a Samsonite Dothan shoulder bag for £10.50 (original price £25.90).
